So, now you know what is equal to the TIC and PR of your site. It’s time to figure out why  search proxies are so important, and how to interpret the data.
Why is the CY and PR site so important?
Today, search engines work with billions of sites, trying to give users the most relevant information on their requests. But how to select the most useful resources out of millions? In addition to criteria such as the age of the site, the quality of the content and others, search engines have introduced an indicator of “authoritativeness of the site”: for Yandex it is the TCI, for Google it is the PR.
TCI
TIC stands for thematic citation index. The value of CY is the higher, the more sites link to your resource. For the calculation of the indicator is important as the quantity and quality of links. As they say, not all links are equally useful. It can be said that the site TIC is an indicator of the site’s popularity with other resources. But when building up a link mass, you need to be careful: Yandex is more interested in the “opinion” of sites that are close in topic, and only then all others.
Another feature: Yandex does not take into account links to your site from “suspicious” sources, for example, many forums, message boards, directories without the moderation function, i.e. all those resources where information is added spontaneously and uncontrollably. It turns out that even a thousand such links will be useless for the site.
As for the numerical expression, the site can have an unlimited index value, that is, from zero to infinity. The higher the site TCI, the easier it is for optimizers to promote this resource. A citation index of a few hundred is a good indicator; values of several thousand and tens of thousands demonstrate only the most authoritative and truly popular resources (Wikipedia, 1tv.ru, etc.)
An initial check of the TCI, even before the start of optimization work, will help you to understand how the Yandex search system sees your site. If the site is already progressing, it is always useful to check the site’s TCI to make sure that the work is carried out correctly.
PR
PR (PageRank) – Google introduced this value to determine the “credibility” of the resource. An important difference between PR and TCI follows already from the name: if a TCI is assigned to the entire site, based on the authority of all pages, then PR is calculated for each page separately. The value of PR is determined by both external and internal links. First, it depends on the number of links and the “weight” of each of them. Like Yandex, Google does not include all links. As far as linking to your site is concerned, there will be no benefit from links leading from specially created link aggregation sites. Outgoing links are very important for PR calculation, i.e. which sites your site links to. Such links may even worsen the page output (lower rating), this is the so-called search pessimization. When a page refers to other sources, it seems to give external resources part of its PR. But if you refer to a more authoritative source, then your PR grows. Therefore, it is very important to keep track of what links you put on your site.
The value of PR, in contrast to the TCI, is in the range from 0 to 10. The maximum values are 8 and 9, which are very rare, while the value 10 is considered practically unattainable. For example, an incredibly authoritative Wikipedia resource has a PR value of 9. For normal sites, the values 5 and 6 can be considered a success.
For sites that want to move to Google, it is very important to take the PR seriously and work to increase it, because It directly affects the position occupied by the site.
